Consecration
Definition
The small personal ritual that makes a wand truly yours, especially if you use it in your spiritual practice. It is best done outdoors in a quiet place, or in a quiet space at home, with incense, candles, a small bowl of water and one of salt for the elements, and a mirror to reflect the candlelight. The wand is passed through the incense smoke (by the powers of Air, for inspiration and vision), sprinkled with salt (Earth, for manifestation), circled around the candle flame (Fire, for creativity, cleansing, passion and dynamic action) and sprinkled with water (Water, for healing, blessing, flow and new beginnings), then raised and dedicated to the creative forces of life.
